Angel Sandoval

–

Camden, New Jersey

My beloved brother, Angel Luis Sandoval, was born on February 13, 1990, in Camden, New Jersey. His life was a testament to his adventurous spirit, creative mind, resilient heart, and courageous soul. From our shared childhood memories to the man he became, Angel lived his life with a gusto that was infectious.

Angel was not only my brother, but a son to our parents, Luis Sandoval and Norma Hernandez. His love for life was only rivaled by his love for his family. Angel was a man of many talents. He found joy in making music and expressing his creativity through drawing. His passion for these hobbies was only matched by his dedication to serving his country. Angel was the recipient of numerous awards, including the National Ribbon Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device. However, the accolades were never his focus. He was driven by a desire to make a difference, to lend a helping hand, and to inspire others through his actions.

The people of Camden, New Jersey were fortunate to have had Angel as a resident for 34 years. He was unwavering in his commitment to help the homeless and influence others positively through his own experiences. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." And live well, Angel did. A celebration of Angel's life will take place on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Inner City Baptist Church, located at 861 Princess Avenue in Camden, New Jersey. The viewing will commence at 9:00 am EDT, followed by the celebration at 10:30 am EDT.

Angel's life was a beautiful song, filled with high notes of joy, soothing melodies of love, and rhythmic beats of resilience and courage. He has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and his memory will live on in the stories we share and the love we hold for him. We invite you to leave your memories, stories, and photos of Angel on his memorial page. Let us remember Angel for the compassionate, creative, and courageous man he was, and celebrate the life he lived with love, laughter, and joy.
