Ronnie Pratt

–

Camden, New Jersey

A star fell from the sky on the 20th of January 2025, as we bid farewell to our compassionate and dedicated father, Ronnie Pratt. Born on the 26th of March 1959 in Salem, NJ, USA, Ronnie shone with a light that was both warm and steadfast. A man of few words, his actions always spoke volumes, echoing in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ronnie, or Ron as he was affectionately called, was a generous soul, always ready to extend a helping hand. His heart was a sanctuary, a refuge for his loved ones, and within its walls, he held us all close. He took root in his love for his family, his beautiful spirit was his compass, guiding his every decision, every step, planting seeds that bore fruit that we still live off of today. A rigid man on the exterior, but soft and loving on the inside, Ronnie produced a beacon of warmth for us all to pull from whenever we may need him.

Our father Ronnie was no stranger to focus and discipline. He understood that when you value something you give it attention. Your attention is what gives things their value. He was well aware that when you invest into something or someone, you ultimately will get a return on that investment. All of his grandchildren, family and friends are where he focused his attention. We are all living proof of the love he's planted, of himself, in all of us, bringing his return into fruition, as he now lives within us.

Ronnie's life was imbued with a quiet dedication to his christian beliefs. As the Good Book says, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." (1 Peter 4:8). Ronnie lived this verse, his love an ever-present testament to his faith. His hobbies, bike riding, listening to music, and enjoying good food, were all done with a love and appreciation that transcended the ordinary, turning the mundane into the extraordinary. All his extra time was spent with his grandchildren and those he valued most, so that his love would be deeply rooted into the lives of everyone that came in contact with him.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Barbara Pratt, daughter Cheyvron Pratt, step-daughters Sirenaica Osorio, Ana Medina, and Marquite Nelson, step-sons Tito Osorio, Omar MCarin, and Byron Vanilla, and his mother-in-law Barbara Buffalo. His grandchildren; Omari, Neieshia, Princess, Araceli, Mia, Imere, Amyla, Alana, Ava, Catalina and Zola. His sister and bonus sisters: Daisy Bynum, Lizzie Jones and Loulla Smalls; His brothers: James T, Michael 'Nasir' and Shawn Pratt. He leaves behind many more nieces, nephews and other family members that will now carry a piece of him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents father, Preston Pratt, and his mother, Bernice Pratt. Also his siblings brothers James F, Walter, Archie and sister Annie Mae "Tootsie" Pratt. Each of us carries a piece of Ronnie's generous, loving spirit with us, a flame that will never be extinguished.

In memory of our dear Ronnie, we invite you to share your favorite stories, memories, and photos of him on the memorial page. In doing so, we keep his spirit alive, his memory burning bright in our hearts. Let the stories of his life, the echoes of his laughter, and the warmth of his love fill our hearts as we remember our dear friend, Ronnie. Allow his memory to continue on by telling stories of good times shared, and just when you need his love look up the sky and smile, knowing he is smiling down right back at you proudly encouraging you to keep pushing forward. He was but a vessel that left his mark here on God's Earth, his seeds are still here and bare fruit.
