Rosalia Ruiz

With heavy hearts, we announce that our beloved Rosalia Ruiz, born on the 27th of February, 1945 in Villalba, Puerto Rico, departed this life on the 16th of August, 2026. A devoted woman of God, Rosalia was a beacon of unconditional love and strength. She was not only a grandmother but also a mother to her 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, whom she raised single-handedly, a feat that stands as her most cherished achievement. Her love for her family was her life's guiding principle, and she dedicated her life to ensuring they were nurtured and loved. As a testament to her strength and perseverance, she carried the heart of Villalba within her when she moved to Camden, New Jersey, where she spent the rest of her life.

Rosalia was a woman of unwavering faith. She lived by the verse in Proverbs 31:28-29, "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'" Her faithfulness, love, and dedication were evident in her everyday life and the lives she touched. Rosalia is survived by her children, her son Luis Yera, her daughters Maria Carrasquillo, Elba Yera, Lissette Carrasquillo. She is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Ruiz and Francisca Otero, and her daughter Vicky Carrasquillo.

The Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, the 25th of August, 2026, at 11:30 am EDT at Macedonia Baptist Church, 351 High Street, Westville, New Jersey, 08093. A Viewing will be held earlier on the same day at 10:00 pm EDT at the same venue. We invite all who knew and loved Rosalia to join us in remembering and celebrating her remarkable life.
