Willie Bush

–

Glassboro, New Jersey

Willie Junior Bush was born on July 18, 1952 to the late Theodore and Louise (Bush) Lewis in Camden, New Jersey. He was the eldest of thirteen children.

Willie received his education from the Camden Public School System. During his high school and young adult years, he worked for the United States Postal Office and for fun, he enjoyed letting loose with family friends. He was known for being a great dancer and an even better roller skater. When he was just 20 years old, he enlisted into the United States Army following the birth of his daughters Veronica Lewis and Lowanna Snowden. He served his country from 1972 to 1978. After his service in the Army, he was a Dietary worker, and worked for Beef International while caring for his four children.

Willie was a beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend. He loved crossword puzzles, cooking and making some of his favorite meals like fried potatoes and neckbones for his family. He would always say “If you have a 5lb bag of potatoes, I can make you a meal”. He loved to laugh and spend time with his family watching his favorite movie, “Under the Sea”, and his favorite shows like “In the Heat of the Night,” “Matlock,” Westerns, Sci-Fi, and many more. Willie was a man with a big heart and a ton of humor that will keep his family smiling for years to come as they continue to think of him forever and always. He was affectionately known as “Chill Will” - we will miss Chill Will’s smile, the way he used to say “Hello!”, and him greeting the ones he loved with infectious tickles and laughter.

On Monday, February 3, 2025, Willie took his final breath and entered his eternal rest. His loving spirit is carried on by his four children; Veronica Lewis, Lowanna Snowden, Willie Snowden, and Schanae Craig; over a dozen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings: Theodore, Vernon, Alicene (Dupree), Vermeal (Walker), Jenia (Holmes), Troy, Chris, Carletta (Sherry), Carla, Crystal, Antoine, and Lamont; and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and other family friends. Preceding him in peace were his parents, Theodore and Louise Lewis.
